It's Roger. Here is how it begins. A sandbox is a sealed place where technical experiments are run, so that nothing inside can reach the outside world. In this one, twelve machines do their work and talk to each other, and every three weeks the whole thing is wiped clean and twelve new ones begin. One person watches it overnight, from a phone, in a dark kitchen, and goes back to sleep. Tonight that person is you.
