Pocket Dread is a small audio-story site. Here is everything it keeps, in plain words.
Your place in each story is stored on your own device, in your browser. It never leaves it. There is no account for listening, no advertising, no third-party analytics, and no tracking cookies.
We do count. Each page keeps a tally of how often it was opened, begun, and finished, whether the device was a phone, and which site sent you here. To count a visitor once a day, we hash your address and browser with a secret that changes daily; that hash is kept for two days and cannot be turned back into you. Nothing about you is stored on our side beyond those tallies.
If you leave an email on a story's end card, we keep it only to tell you when a new story opens. 1 tap in your inbox confirms it, and every note has a link that takes you off the list. Nothing else is sent, and the list is never shared.
There is no charge today. While there was a charge, payment was handled by Stripe, and we never saw your card. Stripe sent us the buyer's email address and the record of the purchase, and that is the only personal information we keep from that time. We do not sell it, share it, or send marketing to it. Reply to your Stripe receipt and ask, and we will remove it.
